On Sunday, July 14, the 2019 <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the Kentucky Series at Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond, KY.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inaugural season of the <\/span>Kentucky Regional Series<\/span><\/a>, in partnership with the <\/span>Kentucky PGA Junior Tour<\/span><\/a>, consists of six one-day events concluding with the two-day Series Finale in October.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the inaugural Prep division of the Kentucky Regional Series, <\/span>Reagan Clark <\/b>(Richmond, KY 2020) brought home the win! Competing in her hometown, Clark posted a score of 81 (+8) and made one birdie on the afternoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Macy Luebbers <\/b>(Cincinnati, OH 2020) jumped from the Futures division after a win last week, taking a tie for runner-up in her first Prep appearance! Along with <\/span>Hannah Curreri <\/b>(Winchester, KY 2020), both finished the round with scores of 83 (+11).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Futures Division\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Improving one spot from last weekend\u2019s event, <\/span>Madison Borders <\/b>(Bardstown, KY 2023) jumped the hurdle and earned the win in Richmond. Borders finished the day with a 77 (+5) including an even-par front nine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Runner-up, with a score of 81 (+9), <\/span>Riley Clark <\/b>(Mt. Vernon, KY 2021) rose to the occasion! Clark made two birdies in her second-place performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Elizabeth Eberle <\/b>(Richmond, KY 2023) and <\/span>Kasey Cameron <\/b>(Richmond, KY 2024) finished in third and fourth place, respectively. Eberle posted a score of 84 (+12) while Cameron was one stroke behind, finishing the day with an 85 (+13).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

Taking the top spot on the Discovery leaderboard once again, <\/span>Kiera Yun <\/b>(Elizabethtown, KY 2027) had everything working on Sunday. Yun fired off a two-under par 34 with three birdies and an eagle!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mollie Neeley <\/b>(Richmond, KY 2026) rounded out the top finishers at Gibson Bay with runner-up honors in the Discovery division. Neeley posted a 55 (+19) in her round.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The PKBGT Kentucky Series is back in action on August 11 at Pioneer at Kenton County GC in Independence, KY.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls\u2019 golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls.
