Ashley Osiecki shoots 3 under in final round to win the Kilmarlic Classic by 3 shots!<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Powells Point, NC \u2013 The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour\u00a0wrapped \u00a0at Kilmarlic Golf Club <\/strong>today,\u00a0after first round\u00a0play was\u00a0suspended\u00a0the girls completed rd 1 and rd 2 . <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the long second day, Ashley Osiecki of New Bern, NC found some momentum in the latter part of the day as she reeled off 3 birdies in a row posting 3 under 33 on the back for a final round of 70 (79-70– 149)\u00a0and a 3 shot victory over Hannah Craver of Winston – Salem. <\/span><\/p>\n

The victory was Osiecki second of the year, the first coming in the PKB’s 2010 opener at The University Club\u00a0of Cobblestone in January. <\/span><\/p>\n

However, this final round victory was much sweeter as the 2013 grad made six biridies in her final round on the difficult Kilmarlic track\u00a0with four\u00a0of them coming on the \u00a0par 3’s alone! <\/span><\/p>\n

“My game plan was to make par mainly and birdies when I had the chance. When we headed out quickly for round 2 I knew I was in good position and I just needed to stay patient, stated\u00a0Ashley.\u00a0It was sweet to play the par 3’s so well here, because they can really be tough and I almost birdied all of them this round!”<\/span><\/p>\n

The round certainly goes down as one of the most impressive in PKB history as Kilmarlic’s par 3 holes have more water than grass. Making birdies on any of the\u00a0par three\u00a0peninsulas is impressive, let alone 4 of the 5!<\/span><\/p>\n

Not to be left out, Hannah Craver’s final round of 1 under 72 (80-72-152) was very\u00a0solid as the Reagan high school standout carded 35 on her final nine in an attempt to overcome Osiecki.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the two were Jessica Kittelberger of Raleigh, NC (83-79–162) in third, Shelby Osiecki of New Bern, NC (79-86–165) in fourth, and Maggie Denny of Chapel Hill, NC and Marley Felthousen in a tie for fifth.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Futures division, round 2 began with a three way tie at the top between Erica Gallerani, Nicolette Donovan, and Sarah Spicer at 79, but Spicer’s final round of 75 earned separated her from the pack as she took home the six shot victory.<\/span><\/p>\n
