On Sunday, June 16, the 2019<\/span> Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the final round of the<\/span> Central Florida Series Finale<\/span><\/a> <\/em>at Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL.<\/em> <\/span><\/p>\n

The PKBGT is excited to be working in partnership with<\/span> Insurance Office of America <\/span><\/a>as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row!<\/span><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

Rounding out a spectacular season, <\/span>Madison Garrett <\/b>(Tampa, FL 2019) brought home the championship in the Prep division. Garrett won all three events she competed in this season! She finished the weekend with a two-day total score of 81, 84 = 165 (+21). <\/span><\/p>\n

Bommakanti Svarnika<\/b> (Tampa, FL 2020) finished in second place with a two-day total score of 87, 88 = 175 (+31). <\/span><\/p>\n

Futures Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Futures Division, <\/span>Abigail Fernandez <\/b>(Windermere, FL 2023) continued on her tear in the 2019 season, bringing home another championship trophy. The win was her sixth of the season, as she closed out the weekend with a two-day total score of 79, 37 = 116 (+8). <\/span><\/p>\n

In second place was <\/span>Morgan Stephens <\/b>(Sanford, FL 2020) who closed out her 2019 campaign with a two-day total score of 86, 46 = 132 (+24).<\/span><\/p>\n

Chloe Browning <\/b>(Oviedo, FL 2021) closed out the Futures Division in third place. She finished with a two-day total score of 122, 53 = 175 (+76). <\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the Discovery Division, <\/span>Bretton Mackiewicz <\/b>(Longwood, FL 2025) ran away with the championship after posting a weekend total score of 35, 41 = 76 (+4). Mackiewicz closes out her year with her sixth win in the 2019 season! \u00a0<\/span>Madison Dusenbury <\/b>(Deland, FL 2028) finished runner-up this weekend, posting a two-day total score of 47, 47 = 94 (+22). <\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing in third place, <\/span>Riley Fletcher <\/b>(Winter Springs, FL 2025)<\/span> closed out her 2019 season with a weekend score of 47, 49 = 96 (+24). Fighting for fourth place was <\/span>Brynn Pressimone <\/b>(Longwood, FL 2026), finishing the weekend with a two-day total score of 47, 50 = 97 (+25). <\/span><\/p>\n

Closing out the top finishers at the 2019 PKBGT Central Florida Series Finale was <\/span>Tiffanie Tran <\/b>(Bradenton, FL 2025). Tran shot a two-day total score of 51, 49 = 100 (+28). <\/span><\/p>\n

Closing Remarks<\/b><\/h2>\n

We would like to thank all participants for a successful 2019 PKBGT Central Florida Series season! Thank you to IOA for sponsoring the tour and opening opportunities for junior girls\u2019 golfers throughout Central Florida. <\/span><\/p>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Central Florida Regional Series is part of the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/span><\/p>\n
