On Saturday, May 18, the 2019 <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the PKBGT\u00a0<\/span>Central Florida Series at Orange Tree CC<\/span><\/a> in Orlando, FL.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The PKBGT is excited to be working in partnership with <\/span>Insurance Office of America <\/span><\/a>as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row!<\/span><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Bringing home the trophy in the Prep division was <\/span>Loa Johannsson <\/b>(Champions Gate, FL 2024). Johannsson posted a score of 79 (+7) on Saturday! <\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing runner-up with a score of 101 (+29) was <\/span>Sarah Robison <\/b>(Lutz, FL 2022). <\/span><\/p>\n

Futures Division<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Taking home the championship in the Futures Division was <\/span>Abigail Fernandez <\/b>(Windermere, FL 2023) after posting a score of 77 (+5). This was the third win of the season for Fernandez!<\/span><\/p>\n

Finishing runner-up with a final score of 81 (+9) was <\/span>Morgan Stephens <\/b>(Sanford, FL 2020). Behind Stephens in third place, <\/span>Darby Hancock <\/b>(Lakeland, FL 2025) posted a score of 91 (+19) on Saturday. <\/span><\/p>\n

Cameron Spellman <\/b>(Heathrow, FL 2022) finished the afternoon in Orlando with a score of 94 (+22) in fourth place. Rounding out the Futures division Top Five was <\/span>Yumi Okuda <\/b>(Winter Garden, FL 2023) with a score of 99 (+27). <\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Champion of the Discovery Division at Orange Tree CC was <\/span>Kelsey Douglas <\/b>(Orlando, FL 2027). Douglas posted a 39 (+3) to win the trophy! <\/span>Bretton Mackiewicz <\/b>(Longwood, FL 2025)<\/span> finished in second place, finishing the afternoon with a score of 43 (+7). <\/span><\/p>\n

Riley Fletcher <\/b>(Winter Springs, FL 2025) finished in third place after posting a final score of 50 (+14) on Saturday afternoon. \u00a0In fourth place with a score of 51 (+15) was <\/span>Adelyn Sweet \u00a0<\/b>(Moseley, VA 2025). Rounding out the Top Five was Adelyn\u2019s sister <\/span>Karoline Sweet<\/b> ((Moseley, VA 2028) with a score of 52 (+16).<\/span><\/p>\n

The PKBGT is back in action June 1-2 for the Central Florida Series Girls\u2019 Classic at LPGA International (Jones)<\/a> in Daytona Beach, FL. \u00a0Make sure to #inviteHER to try out their first tournament FREE at a PKBGT Central Florida Series event!<\/span><\/p>\n

About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/b><\/h2>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Central Florida Regional Series Kickoff event features a field of 24 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/span><\/p>\n
