{"id":10535,"date":"2019-05-19T02:09:42","date_gmt":"2019-05-19T02:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/?p=10535"},"modified":"2019-05-19T02:09:42","modified_gmt":"2019-05-19T02:09:42","slug":"19event40_recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pkbgt.org\/news\/19event40_recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Recap: PKBGT Delaware Valley Series at Linfield National Golf Club"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Saturday, May 18, the 2019 <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> played the inaugural <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/schedule.php?TID=15\">Delaware Valley Regional Series<\/a> event at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linfieldnational.com\/\">Linfield National Golf Club<\/a> in Linfield, PA. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pkbgt.org\/about_series.php\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Prep Division<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Taking home the championship trophy in Prep division, <\/span><b>Kyleen McCance <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Hanover Township, PA 2022) finished the round with a score of 92 (+21)! McCance birdied the ninth hole on the way to the first Prep champion in Delaware Valley Regional Series history! <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Futures Division <\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holding down the fort in the Futures division, <\/span><b>Chloe Barton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Newton, NJ 2023) was the inaugural champion in the DV Series! Barton finished the round with a score of 84 (+13) and made a birdie on the 11th hole. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With a second-place finish, <\/span><b>Lucy Barton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Newton, NJ 2023) finished one stroke behind her sister with a score of 85 (+14). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Sydney Vailancourt <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Fredericksburg, VA 2020) finished in third place with a score of 91 (+20). Vailancourt birdied the second hole of her round on Saturday!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rounding out the Top Five, in a two-way tie for fourth place was <\/span><b>Amanda Schuebel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(King of Prussia, 2022) and <\/span><b>Hayley Ekert <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Lansdale, PA 2023). Both players posted scores of 99 (+28). <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Discovery Division<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bringing home the inaugural DV Series win in the Discovery division, <\/span><b>Rachel Joyce <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Quakertown, PA 2026) topped the leaderboard on Saturday afternoon! Joyce posted a score of 39 (+4) and closed out her round with a birdie on the ninth hole. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Savannah Laverty <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Moorestown, NJ 2027) finished runner-up with a score of 40 (+5) at Linfield National Golf Club. In third place with a score of 46 (+11) was <\/span><b>Alyssa Schuebel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(King of Prussia, PA 2025). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finishing in fourth place with a score of 53 (+18) was <\/span><b>Kayla John <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Newtown, PA 2025). Closing out the Top Five in the Discovery division was <\/span><b>Kaia Griffith <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Pottstown, PA 2025) with a score of 55 (+20) on the afternoon. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PKBGT Delaware Valley Series is back in action on June 23 at The Manor Golf Club in Sinking Springs, PA. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player\u2019s pace.
