On Saturday, January 5th, the 2019 <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> played the <\/span>Central Florida Series at Mayfair CC <\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Sandford, FL. The PKBGT is excited to be working in partnership with <\/span>Insurance Office of America <\/span><\/a>as the presenting sponsor of the series for the second year in a row!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. <\/span>The PKBGT Series Progression<\/span><\/a> allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage\/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prep Division<\/h2>\n

The Champion of the Prep Division of the kickoff event was <\/span>Caroline McConnell <\/b>(Fayette, PA 2022) with a score of 82 (+10). In second place with an 83 was <\/span>Sarah Fox <\/b>(Lakeland, FL).<\/span><\/p>\n

Futures Division<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the Futures Division, <\/span>Abigail Fernande<\/b>z (Windermere, FL 2023) won the event, posting an 80 (+8). In second place is <\/span>Morgan Stephens <\/b>who shot an 82 (+10). <\/span>Madilyn Saxton <\/b>(Guyton, GA 2025) shot an 86 (+14) and finished in third place. Finishing in fourth place with a score of 90 (+18) is <\/span>Reagan Chastain<\/b> (Orlando, FL 2023). Rounding out the top five, with a score of 97 (+25), is <\/span>Lauren Perry <\/b>(New Symrna Beach, FL 2020).<\/span><\/p>\n

Discovery Division<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Champion of the Discovery Division was <\/span>Mara King<\/b> (Longwood, FL 2025) who posted a score of two-over par 38. <\/span>Adriana Pagan <\/b>finished in second place with a score of 42 (+6). In third place was Bretton Mackiewicz<\/strong> (Longwood, FL 2025) with a 45 (+9). \u00a0Rounding out the top five was <\/span>Riley Fletcher<\/b> (Winter Springs, FL 2025) in fourth with a 47 (+11) and <\/span>Haley Plumley <\/b>(Maitland, FL 2026) with a 50 (+14).<\/span><\/p>\n

About the PKBGT Regional Series<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to \u201cget into the swing of things\u201d playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The Central Florida Regional Series Kickoff event features a field of 24 players from the PKB Girls\u2019 Golf Tour, the nation\u2019s largest \u201cgirls\u2019 only\u201d junior tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Peggy Kirk Bell Girls\u2019 Golf Tour<\/span><\/a> is an initiative of the <\/span>Triad Youth Golf Foundation<\/span><\/a>, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls\u2019 golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls\u2019 golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
