Toughest day does not dampen Andersons victory

The mild winter weather finally stepped aside, leaving the players battling the elements and the tough layout at the Wolfpack Classic @ Lonnie Pool GC at NC State University.  What will go down as one of the toughest days in tour history, players overcame 40 degree temperatures, wind and sporadic rain to complete the 36-hole Bell Division event.

The third event of the 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded with Lyberty Anderson (2014, Chesterfield, VA) following her fabulous first round 69 with a 78 to claim a 4 shot victory.  Lyberty made 6 birdies on the weekend to claim her first victory since the 2010 Fall Preview Classic at Hunting Hawk following three 2nd places finishes in big events last year. Bryana Nguyen (2014, Columbia, MD) took 2nd with a consistent 75-76-151. Lucia Polo (2013, Greensboro, NC), who made 9 birdies on the weekend, finished third at 72-80-152.  Sarah Bae (2013, Cary, NC) and Shannon Brooks (2015, Vienna, VA) finished in fourth and fifth respectively with outstanding second day 76’s.

Due to the deteriating weather conditions, the 2nd round of the Futures Division was cancelled leaving tour newcomer Madalyn Davis (2012, Marion, NC) as champion,  Madalyn shot a 3-over par 75  for a one-shot victory over Emilia Migliaccio (2017, Cary, NC).  Tour Order of Merit leader Amy Wooten (2018, Clinton, NC) took third with a 77.
