Taylor, Markiewicz claim CC of Salisbury PKB Titles

Courtney Taylor edged out defending champion Katherine Perry by one stroke in the Peggy Kirk Bell Spring Championship held at Salisbury Country Club. Taylor, who will be attending UNCG this fall, shot 76-70 to finish the tournament at 4 over. Katherine Perry, winner of 3 PKB events this spring season, shot 74-73 to finish one back at 147.

“This was a great event and the golf course was in great shape”, remarked Taylor as she accepted her Championship trophy. It was a strong finish and evened the slate between Taylor and Perry. Courtney lost on the first hole of sudden death last year to finish runner-up to Perry.

In another tournament highlights, Katie Kirk bested Elizabeth Thompson on a scorecard playoff and Allison Emrey shot a final round 69 (-2) in a bogey free round on the Ross design. It was the lowest single round posted in the Bell Division in the spring tournament season.
