Recap

Blythewood, SC – The final round of the first event on the PKB tour was shortened to 27 holes for the event due to inclement weather. However, despite the rain, girls compete hard and both divisions saw champions emerge by merely one shot.

In the Bell Division, Ashley Osiecki of New Bern, NC took home medalist honors after posting a 39 for her final nine in the slop to best first round leader Shelby Winters by a shot after Winters fired a 44.

Osiecki who finished in the top five of the order of merit last year, started the year of right with her first today win on the tour and looks to continue her winning ways as she approaches the years first major set for Pine Needles Lodge in February.

In the Futures division, Lauren Stephenson of Lexington, SC posted a final nine of 41 to best Charlotte’s Madison Moosa by a single shot.

EVENT PREVIEW

Columbia, SC –

The weather is looking better by the day as the PKB Tour opens its first event at Cobblestone GC. The course is home of the USC Gamecocks and will prove to be a great test for the girls for their first event. Head pro Tom Graber and his staff are excited about hosting the event. Graber, who once resided in the Pinehurst area states “I have always admired Peggy and what she has done for the game of golf in general and especially girls golf. We look forward to being a part of the PKB vision by providing the girls with this tournament at the University Club of Cobblestone.”

The first event field will consist of 27 players (20 Bell, 7 Futures). Out of the 27 player field, Forest Oaks PKB champion, Grace Glaze of Clemson, SC will be in attendance for the event as she competes against a competitive Bell division field featuring players from three different states (NC, SC, & Maryland).

Remember, all players must sign the player code of conduct and have filled out their LPGA form before they tee it up this weekend. If you have not already sent these to the tour office please bring them with you as it will save time at registration.
