Wilmington, NC– The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour headed to the Country Club of Landfall for the second round of the PKBGT Invitational.
It was moving day at the 17th PKBGT Invitational as players aimed to move up the leaderboard and position themselves for the final round.
Kennedy MacCleery (Crozet, VA 2027) entered the day in solo second after opening with a 70 (-2). She played the front nine in one over par with one bogey and eight pars. As she turned to the back nine, she caught fire! Making birdies on 12, 13, 15, & 18 on her way to shooting another round of 70 (-2)! At -4 for the tournament, she holds a two stroke lead entering Monday’s final round! MacCleery has several high finishes on the PKBGT and is looking to breakthrough for her first Bell National victory!

Ella Hannant (Pikeville, NC 2027) fired the low round of the tournament with a 68 (-4) highlighted by an eagle on the par 5 fourth! She added four birdies to her scorecard as she charged into a tie for second. Ava Osborne (Austin, TX 2027) matched her opening score of 71 (-1) in the second round to join Hannant in the lead pairing on Monday! Osborne has made 10 birdies over the first 36 holes and is positioned well entering the final round.
First round leader Ira Joshi (Pinehurst, NC 2029) shot a 74 (+2) in her second round and is three off the lead. Rounding out the top five is Isabella Anderson (Columbus, OH 2026) who is even par for the tournament through 36 holes and just four strokes behind MacCleery.
Following the second round, the field was reduced to the top 33 players at +12 or better. Tomorrow’s final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 AM as players compete to become the 17th PKBGT Invitational champion! You can follow the live leaderboard tomorrow at the link below!
