Greensboro, NC – On Sunday, August 14th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played a Georgia Series event at Sugar Creek Golf Club.
Sugar Creek Golf Club provided the perfect setting for the players to get in a challenging round of golf. Tee times were set to begin at 11:00 AM and players arrived at the practice facilities eager to get the round started.
At the end of the day, three girls stood atop the leaderboards, each the champion of their division in the Georgia Series at Sugar Creek Golf Club.
Prep Division
Elizabeth Sullivan (Sandy Springs, GA 2025) made three birdies on the day including one at the last and scored 73 (+1) to bring home the championship. Saanvi Venkatesh (Marietta, GA 2024) scored 37 (+1) on the back nine helping push her into second place. Nathariya Phimsoutham (McDonough, GA 2025) made two birdies of her own and finished in third place.

Hailey Jung (Johns Creek, GA 2029) made two birdies on the front nine helping her to shoot 79 (+7) and take home the championship hardware. Grace Lee (Suwanee, GA 2028) made two birdies on the day as well and finished the day in solo second place. Logan Wilson (Alpharetta, GA 2027) and Emily Waldrop (Roswell, GA 2023) combined for three birdies and both scored 85 (+13) on the day.

Discovery Division
Vivian Lott (Fayetteville, GA 2029) made three birdies and didn’t make a bogey to fire a 3-under 33 to win the Discovery division by 5. Paige Ruhala (Peachtree City, GA 2029) made three birdies as well and finished in second place tied with Reema Venkatesh (Marietta, GA 2031). Venkatesh made a birdie on the second hole and matched Ruhala’s score of 38 (+2).

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2022 season will feature over 138 tournaments in 12+ states and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
