Greensboro, NC – On Saturday, August 13th, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played a Delaware Valley Series event at Middletown Country Club.
Middletown Country Club provided the perfect setting for the players to get in a challenging round of golf. Tee times were set to commence at 1:00 PM off of Hole #1 and players arrived at the practice facilities eager to get the round started.
At the end of the day, three girls stood atop the leaderboards, each the champion of their division in the Delaware Valley Series at Middletown Country Club.
Lola Barnett (Hatboro, PA 2023) played her last four holes 3-under par helping her to shoot 78(+6) and win the Prep division by one. Sophia Desantis (Glen Mills, PA 2024) made three birdies on the back nine and tied for second with Alexandra Engart (Harleysville, PA 2025). Engart made two birdies of her own on Saturday and scored 79(+7). Abigail McCorkell (Schweksville, PA 2024) scored 47 on the front nine and bettered that by 11 strokes on the back nine. She made three birdies and scored 36(-1) for the back nine.

Meredith Finger (Wilmington, DE 2026) made four birdies on the back nine, including three in a row. This helped her score 76(+4) for the day and bring home the trophy. Savannah Laverty (Moorestown, NJ 2027) played the back nine in even par and finished in solo second place. Isabella Scanapicco (Tinton Falls, NJ 2023) made three birdies on the back nine, ultimately finishing in third place. Katherine Liu (Moorestown, NJ 2026) birdied the par-5 15th hole and finished fourth.

After nine holes of play, Bryn Krosse (York, PA 2030) and Katelyn Burks (Paoli, PA 2032) were tied and went into a sudden-death playoff. After the second playoff hole, Krosse walked away with the championship trophy. Krosse’s day was highlighted by an eagle on the fourth hole. Burks made two birdies pushing her into the playoff with Krosse. Joslen Bannon (Prince Frederick, MD 2030) made a birdie on the third hole and finished in solo third. Maple Wei (Warren NJ, 2030) made a birdie on the seventh hole helping her to shoot 43(+7).

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
