Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour host Greensboro Open
Madison Kennedy fires 75 to win by a shot at Forest Oaks Golf Club
Greensboro, NC – The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ hosted its 14th event of the season this Monday at Forest Oaks GC. The former Greensboro Chrysler Classic PGA Tour host course was in great shape for the girls and great scoring followed as 7 of 14 Bell division girls posted scores in the 70’s. However, in the end it, Madison Kennedy of Salisbury,NC edged out the competition with a 75 taking home the one shot victory.
Following Kennedy was Greensboro’s own Ashlii Thompson who posted 76, Jessica Kittelberger of Raleigh, NC at 77, and Katie Seymour of Wake Forest, NC at 78. Other notables included Jessica and Sarah Spicer of Bahama, NC who both posted 79.
The Futures Division witnessed a playoff between PineNeedles Classic Champion Jennifer Chang of Morrisville, NC and Meghan Symonds of Cary, NC. Both players posted 80 in their eighteen hole rounds and after 3 holes Chang captured the titled with a par on the tenth hole with her second consecutive sand save.
Other notable scores in the division included: Ellen Smith of Cary, NC in third place with 82, Brittany Smith of Stanley, NC with an 84 for fourth, and Carrie Ganim of Greensboro, NC in fifth with an 88.

The girls’ will play their next event at Tanglewood’s Championship Golf Course in Clemmons, NC on July 8th. This event was the largest of the year as many came out to play the infamous Champions Tour host course.
