
On Friday, July 29, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the One-Day Open Series at Bermuda Run Country Club (West Course). The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 26 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour.
The Champion of the Prep Series by four shots was Mary Slade White (Winston-Salem, NC 2019) after posting an 81 for the day. Following in second with a score of 85 was Jordan Young (Winston -Salem, NC 2016). In third place with an 88 was Anna Bonifay (Pafafftown, NC 2017). Round out our top four was Emilee Wenmoth(Clemmons, NC 2017) with a score of 95.
In the Futures Series, Kelley Topiwala (Matthews, NC 2020) fired a 3 over par, 74 to place first. Only two strokes behind finishing in second was Amanda Kang ( Kernersville, NC 2018) with a score of 5 over par, 76. Finishing in third place was Caroline Crumrine ( Wilmington, NC 2020) with a score of 79. In fourth place was Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020) with a score of 83. Finishing in a tie for fifth place with matching cards of 84 were Annabelle Millard (Indian Trail, NC 2022) and Mackensi Hall (Graham, NC 2018).

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
