On June 11, 2016, the PKBGT will be playing the first South Carolina One-Day Series Event at Columbia Country Club, Columbia CC is ranked among the top 50 courses in South Carolina, it has hosted numerous amateur events and is also home to the Columbia College Koalas golf teams. The South Carolina One-Day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of South Carolina One-Day Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.
Featured in the 5-player Prep Series are Sydney Abruzzino (Myrtle Beach, SC 2017) and Taylor Williams (Lincolnton, NC 2017). Sydney is currently ranked 91 on the PKBGT Prep Series Order of Merit and had a top-five finish with a 2nd place finish at the NC One-Day Series event at Carolina Trace this season. Taylor is making her Prep debut after finishing inside the top-15 at the PKBGT Futures Open at Sapona Ridge with a tie for 14th.
Featured in the 13-player Futures One-Day Series are Ashley Milliken (Charlotte, NC 2019), and Mary Kathryn Talledo (Blythewood, SC 2021). Ashley is ranked T-17th on the PKBGT Futures One-Day Order of Merit and recently placed T-4 at the NC One-Day Series @ Pinehurst No.9. Mary Kathryn is ranked T-45th on the Futures Order of Merit and had two top-15 finishes this season. Layla is ranked second on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit and had three top-10 finishes for her first year playing with PKBGT.
Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in each series. We look forward to a great event!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
