On Sunday, May 28, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the second round of the PKBGT Collegiate Series at Country Club of Salisbury. Salisbury, home of the Catawba College women’s golf team, is a tricky Donald Ross layout for this 54-hole championship. The event features a field 12 players, and 6 teams.
Congratilations to Whitney Stevenson on her first career Hole-in-One on hole 17 at Country Club of Salisbury!
After round one, Ashlii Thompson (Brown Summit, NC 2013) is leading the field by three strokes at four under par with a score of 67. Not far behind Thompson is Whitney Stevenson (Canton, GA 2013) at one under par with a score of 70.
Round 2 tee times begin at 9:00 AM with the leaders teeing off at 9:20 AM. Temperatures in the mid 70s are in the forecast for Sunday. Looks like a great day for the second round of the Open Championship!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
