PKBGT tees it up at University of South Carolina

The 2012 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour tees off this weekend with the Palmetto Classic @ USC Cobblestone Park GC. The home course of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, Cobblestone serves as a beautiful, undulating course for this two day event. The event features a full field of 57 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members and 94 alumni in the collegiate ranks.

The Bell Division field features 33 players highlighted by four players in the PKBGT top-20 on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists. SC University Classic at Clemson University Eden Howard (2014, Lamar, SC), Ashlii Thompson (2013, Browns Summit, NC), Nicole Chin (2014, Irmo, SC) and Makalyn Poole (2015, Williamston, SC) all look to move into the Top-5 with a victory. Local girl Kelsey Badmaev (2013, Blythewood, SC), tour standout Victoria Allred (2014, Pfafftown, NC) and newcomer Louise Oxner (2013, Greenville, SC) will all look for their first victories of the year.

The Futures Division field features 24 players from across the region, all seeking their first PKBGT victories. Kristin Hearp currently stands in third place in the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit Standings with additional players to watch including Kate Harper (2016, Isle of Palms, SC), Elizabeth Rand (2013, Asheville, NC) and Naomi Mitchell (2018, Norfolk, VA).
