Greensboro, NC: The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour (PKBGT) and the G2 Academy announce a partnership, combining the leading platforms in all-girls golf competition and training. The alignment between the two female-centric organizations continues the only all-girls junior golf tour and the first all-girls junior golf boarding academy’s missions to create opportunities and support for girls in golf.
The G2 joins in partnership with the PKBGT to support them in pursuits to actively grow interest and participation in girls golf while providing a venue for aspiring collegiate golfers to compete. The PKBGT is in its 13th season and has experienced unprecedented growth. Participation on the tour has grown to over 900 members with multi- day events regularly featuring between 60 to 90 girls.
“We are excited to join forces with another organization that shares our values to help create opportunities and empower junior girl golfers,” said PKBGT Tour Director Mike Parker.
G2 students have already committed to female centric training and a female only tour completes their program. A strategic alignment between The PKBGT and The G2 Academy provides the most comprehensive platform for girls to train and compete. Through the partnership, G2 has committed to annual contributions to the PKBGT Let’s Play Campaign, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation initiative. The goal of the Let’s Play Campaign is expand girls competitive opportunities by providing 1,000 girls only events in the next 10 years.
“The alignment between the PKBGT and G2 produces an unprecedented opportunity to prepare female junior golfers to compete at the next level,” states Ray Travaglione, G2 Founder and CEO, “Girls now have a junior golf tour and a junior golf academy designed with their needs in mind, the ideal environment for developing the skills they need to earn college scholarships.”
About The G2 Academy: Based in Bluffton, South Carolina, The G2 Golf Academy will provide world-class golf instruction, an accredited academic schedule with small class sizes and AP Classes, mental training to help achieve specific, individualized goals, and a female-specific fitness program including nutrition planning. The program will also include special curriculum promoting female empowerment, leadership, and community involvement. The Academy will focus on the development of young women on and off the golf course.
The girls-only academy will launch with junior golf camps in the Summer 2019 and the Full-Time Academy program will be accepting students for the Fall 2019 term.
