Recap: PKBGT Spring Bell Invitational

Charlottesville, VA – The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour traveled to Birdwood Golf Course at the Boar’s Head Resort in Charlottesville, VA for the PKBGT Spring Bell Invitational.

It was an exciting Monday final round at the PKBGT Spring Bell Invitational! Many players started within striking distance of Ella Weber’s (Burlington, Canada 2023) overnight lead and looked to make a Monday charge. Emerson B. Dever (Durham, NC 2025) made an early statement birdieing three holes in a row starting on the par-5 second. She would add two more birdies coming in to shoot the round of the day, 69 (-3) to move into medalist position.

Ella Weber (Burlington, Canada 2023) held the lead for most of Monday by making birdie on four of her opening twelve holes. Kathryn Ha (Roanoke, VA 2025) kept it close making three of her own on her front nine. Weber widened her lead to two but Ha added birdies on 14 and 16 to match the lead. Ha would par in to post 213 (-3) for the tournament.

Weber dropped shots on her closing three holes to fall off pace. Ha won for the first time in 2023 with her victory this weekend adding to a list of prestigious PKB victories! Jenna Kim (Raleigh, NC 2027) and Sarah Lydic (Ocean View, DE 2024) tied for third place with a score of 217 (+1) for the tournament.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2022 season will feature over 138 tournaments in 12+ states and with over 1,000 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
