Inside the Field: 2021 Spring Invitational

Making its return to the schedule at the newly renovated Birdwood Golf Course at Boar’s Head Resort, the 2021 Spring Invitational is shaping up to be the best field from top to bottom the tour has ever seen.

The Spring Invitational, contested this year on March 27-28, features one of the highest-ranked fields ever, with 95% of the field ranking inside the top 1,000 on Junior Golf Scoreboard. Even more notable, twenty-four of the field currently ranks inside the top 500.

With players from ten states – let’s take a look inside this year’s field of 48!

Highest Ranked Players

Making her first start back on the PKBGT since capturing the 2020 PKBGT Invitational at Bermuda Run in November, Adrian Anderson (Murrels Inlet, SC 2022) sits at 112 on JGS and the current PKBGT Performance Index. Just behind Anderson is Sydney Yermish (Wynnewood, PA 2023) at 137 and #3 on PKBGT Performance Index. Yermish made a run at Anderson at the PKBGT Invitational and captured the Kiawah Resort Girls Classic earlier this season.

Youngsters in the Field

They say age is just a number, which proves to be true for Ellen Yu (High Point, NC 2026), who enters the field at just 13 years old. This will be Yu’s first time in the field.

In addition to Yu, the field features six from 2025, six from 2024, nine from the class of 2023, fifteen from 2022, and six from the graduating class of 2021.
