PKBGT Announces Kentucky Storie Order of Merit Winners

Greensboro, NC- The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is pleased to announce the three recipients of the 2021 Storie Order of Merit for the PKBGT Kentucky Series in partnership with Kentucky PGA Junior Tour. The Kentucky Series spanned over four months around the Bluegrass State. A total of 63 players competed at six events.

 

Prep Kentucky

 

Taylor Sargent (Milton, WV 2023) played in just two Prep Kentucky events this season, but she made the most of those two starts with a runner-up finish at the series finale at UK Club (Big Blue) and medalist honors at UK Club (Wildcat).

Sargent concluded the KY Series with a scoring average a sliver over 80 over two rounds played with a scoring differential of 6.85. Sargent, a consistency machine, made par on 50% of the holes she played with a 5.31 par-five scoring average.

Futures Kentucky

Abigail Caine (Versailles, KY 2027) will be joining Sargent as the Futures Regional representative at the 2022 Linville Cup after capturing her first PKBGT Kentucky Storie Order of Merit title. Caine, a two-time winner this season, finished on the podium in every event she played this season.

Caine closed the KY schedule with a 79.43 scoring average, with her best score being a 77 at Gibson Bay.

Over the course of the season, Caine finished third on two occasions and won at UK Club (Big Blue) and Gibson Bay.

Discovery Kentucky

Emerson Bowling (Frankfort, KY 2028) will be representing the Bluegrass State for the second year in a row as a member of Team National at the 2022 Linville Cup at Mid Pines Golf and Lodge in January. Like her Order of Merit counterparts, Bowling stayed on the podium for every event they played this year.

Bowling concluded the KY schedule with a 9-hole scoring average a hair over forty over five rounds played.

Emerson recorded two victories and finished runner-up on three occasions.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
