The 2019 PKBGT National Series is winding down to a close, sprinting toward the finish line of a heated season of competition. Of the 29 total events spanning across six states, only five remain. Bell National and Futures National Order of Merit champions will be determined in that time frame.
Though there is plenty of golf yet to be played in the current season, the 2020 tour looms just around the corner. Today, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour releases the National Schedule for Fall ’19 and Winter ’20! Highly touted championships return, paired with a batch of brand new events in regions previously untapped by the tour’s national circuit.
Traveling across four states in the Southeastern portion of the country, the fall and winter calendar features stops at the home course of multiple Division 1 Women’s Golf programs, legendary locations for golf getaways and, of course, Mrs. Bell’s duo of Southern Pines sanctuaries. From the Sunshine State to PKBGT headquarters, take a look at some of the top destinations on the PKBGT 2020 National Series schedule.

Invitational excitement
Several PKBGT Invitational events return in the 2020 season, headlined by the 2019 PKBGT Invitational (Nov. 9-11). Bermuda Run Country Club plays host to the tour’s premier event for the second consecutive year following a grand 10th-anniversary celebration in 2018.
Players and parents fell in love with a mid-November retreat to Hilton Head last season. Girls’ golf’s brightest stars can pencil in another island adventure at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort for the 2019 PKBGT Discovery Invitational (Nov. 16-17). The event will be Discovery division invite-only, though the 2019 PKBGT Palmetto Dunes Resort Classic will take place in conjunction, once again, for the Bell National and Futures National divisions.
Gathering all of the PKBGT’s champions of the year past, the 2019 PKBGT Tournament of Champions (Dec. 7-8) serves as an invite-only event for players in the Bell National and Prep Preview divisions. Presented by Golf Pride Grips, the Tournament of Champions takes place at the scenic Pinehurst No. 8 in Pinehurst, NC.
New events receive an invite to the PKBGT Invitational family
While the Bell National and Discovery divisions celebrated the tour’s top talent in years past, the remaining two PKBGT divisions will join the part in 2020! Hosted by Carolina National Golf Club, the 2019 PKBGT Regional Invitational (Oct. 26-27) will feature two separate invite-only events: the PKBGT Prep Invitational and the PKBGT Futures Invitational!
Defend your region
In 2019, the PKBGT expanded into new areas with the development of two new regional series: the Delaware Valley Series and the Kentucky Series. In 2020, these new faces will join the existing PKBGT regions in a battle to defend their territory! Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club will host the 2020 PKBGT Linville Cup (Jan. 18-20), the third annual playing of an inter-regional team challenge and leadership retreat.
Fresh classics
January 2020 may better serve as Fresh Classic Month with three new classic events to kick off the new year. Leading off: a weekend with Mickey and Minnie in Orlando! While Toy Story 4 and the Lion King dominated the animation mogul’s 2019 calendar year, the 2020 PKBGT Disney Girls Classic (Jan. 4-5) will rival the hype surrounding those childhood memories. What better way to welcome ’20 than a trip to Walt Disney World Resort (Lake Buena Vista)?
Once the adrenaline from the overload all your favorite characters in one place wears off, the tour hops back into Carolina. The nation’s largest girls-only tour takes over legendary Kiawah Island Golf Resort (Oak Point) for the 2020 PKBGT Kiawah Resort Girls Classic (Jan. 11-12). Host to several PGA, LPGA and NCAA tournaments, the PKBGT etches our name in golf folklore in taking on the Kiawah Island challenge.
After a brief intermission for the Linville Cup, the national series returns to Orlando for a second event in the Sunshine State. Home to the Symetra Tour’s IOA Golf Classic, Alaqua Country Club will host the 2020 PKBGT Alaqua Orlando Girls Classic (Jan. 25-26). Having hosted the Central Florida Series in the past, Longwood is prepped for the full-blown PKBGT national experience!
Best of the rest
Don’t fret, the 2020 PKBGT schedule is not without the hits! Athens and the University of Georgia Golf Course will, once again, serve as the host to the 2020 PKBGT RocketTour Players Championship (Feb. 15-16), presented by RocketTour Golf. The 2019 PKBGT Eagle Classic at Georgia Southern University (Dec. 14-15), 2020 PKBGT OrangeWhip Classic at the Walker Course at Clemson University (Feb. 8-9) and 2020 PKBGT Tar Heel Classic at UNC Finley Golf Course (March 7-8) complete the annual early-spring run of Division 1 caliber challenge.
Capping off our schedule release, the 2020 PKBGT Peggy Kirk Bell Junior (Dec. 28-29) closes 2019 on a high note at the home course of Mrs. Bell, our tour matriarch.
Get a head start on the competition
Oh, the places you’ll go! Now that you know where we’ll be headed in the 2020 PKBGT year, it’s time to get cracking on preparation for the new season. As we all know, Mother Nature is anything but predictable with the PKBGT so it’s best to hold off on packing your bags. But there’s no better time than now to begin mapping out your 2020 tournament route and considering which events you want to compete in.
Another year on the PKBGT is set to be the biggest one yet! We are proud to serve as the nation’s largest girls-only tour and we’re constantly expanding. If you know someone who would benefit from the challenge of all-girls competition on the course and quality friendships off the course, send them our way so they can take part in the 2020 season!

About the PKBGT
Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2019 season will feature over 90 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast and with over 900 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.
