Preview: Middle Atlantic Classic

Greensboro, NC-On Saturday-Sunday May 30-31, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour will make their first trip up to the DMV for the Middle Atlantic Girls Classic at Reston National Golf Club in Reston, VA. This is the first time the PKBGT has played Reston National and also marks the second weekend of resumed play since the suspension due to COVID-19.

 

A strict Player Safety Protocol will be in effect to ensure the safety of our players, their family members, our staff, and host facility employees.

Bell National

In the Bell National division, thirty players will compete on the 5900 yards par 72 set up.

Top-ranked players in the field include:

  • Alexsandra Lapple — Pinehurst, NC — Class of 2023 — #22 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Isabel Bae— Bristow, VA — Class of 2021 — #41 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Emma Chen — Derwood, MD — Class of 2021 — #43 on the PKBGT Performance Index

Futures National

In the Prep Preview division, twenty-three players will compete on the 5,300 yards par 72 set up.

Top-ranked players in the field include:

  • Kathryn Ha — Roanoke, VA — Class of 2025 — #100 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Saia Rampersaud — Durham, NC — Class of 2025 — #173 on the PKBGT Performance Index
  • Shelly Herbert — Charlotte Hall, MD — Class of 2023 — #174 on the PKBGT Performance Index

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by Girls Golf of America, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina.  The tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
