Update: 2019 Prep and Futures Invitational

On Saturday, October 26, the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the 2019 Prep and Futures Invitational at Carolina National Golf Club in Bolivia, NC

45 of the PKBGT’s up and coming stars played their first round at the inaugural Prep and Futures Invitational, a brand-new PKBGT championship event designed to bring together the top competitors from the PKBGT’s six different regional series.

Not only is this event a championship event, but the Prep Invitational serves as a qualifier for the coveted 2019 PKBGT Invitational played in two weeks at Bermuda Run Country Club in Advance, NC. Following completion of tomorrow’s final round, the top three finishers of the Prep division will punch their ticket into the highly ranked PKBGT championship event.

Tight, marsh-lined fairways and a strong, afternoon breeze provided quite the test for competitors today as they battled the elements of a golf course just miles from the Atlantic coastline. Let’s take a look at the leaderboard heading into tomorrow’s final round!

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace. The 2020 season will feature over 95 tournaments in 9 states on the East Coast and with over 900 members, the PKBGT is the largest girl’s only tour in the country.  Learn more about the PKBGT at http://www.pkbgt.org/.
