Recap: PKBGT Central Gulf Coast Series at The Club at Hidden Creek

On Saturday, January 18, the 2020 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the inaugural Central Gulf Coast Series at The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, FL.

These PKBGT regional events offer innovative yardage-based divisions to girls aged 9-17. The PKBGT Series Progression allows players to progress towards playing collegiate golf by playing yardage/skill appropriate tournaments as they develop their game.

The inaugural season of the Central Gulf Coast Regional Series will consist of five one-day events concluding with the Series Finale in June. The Prep and Futures Series plays 18 holes and the Discovery Series plays 9 holes.

Prep Series 

Taking home the trophy in the first event of the Central Gulf Coast Series in the Prep Series is Mariane Johnson (Gulf Breeze, FL 2023) with a score of 79. Mariane had 11 pars and 1 birdie in her first PKBGT tournament!

Finishing in second place with a score of 81 is Paola Rosario-Sauri (Crestview, FL 2020).

Isaly Benoit (Pensacola, FL 2024) finished in third place with a score of 89 

Futures Series 

Taking home the trophy in the first event of the Central Gulf Coast Series in the Futures Series is Sydney Lane (Pensacola, FL 2023) with a score of 93. Sydney had 3 pars and a birdie which helped her claim the trophy!

There was a two way tie for second place. Alexis Grove (Navarre, FL 2020) and Savanna Dietrich (Pace, FL 2021) both finished the day with scores of 95.

Mia Hobbs (Gulf Breeze, FL 2023) finished in fourth place with a score of 103

Discovery Series 

Taking home the trophy in the first event of the Central Gulf Coast Series in the Discovery Series is Shayla Abbas (Pensacola, FL 2027) with a score of 44. Shayla had 3 pars in her first PKBGT tournament!

Finishing in second place with a score of 50 is Jaya McDonald (Navarre, FL 2028).

Haley Jett (Navarre, FL 2028) finished in third place with a score of 62

Finishing in fourth place is Delainey Baker (Gulf Breeze, FL 2028) with a score of 64.

The PKBGT Central Gulf Coast Series is back in action on February 22nd at Scenic Hills CC in Pensacola, FL. 

About the PKBGT Regional Series

One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels but are a great place for development golfers to “get into the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.

About the PKBGT

Founded in 2007 by the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, as a local girls’ golf tour in the Triad region of North Carolina, the tour began as a simple concept: create more effective competitive playing opportunities for girls. By utilizing innovative yardage-based divisions instead of the traditional age-based format, the tour focused on developing tournament experience at the player’s pace.
