On April 14-15, 2018 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Southeast Classic at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, SC. The Southeast Classic is a new event to the 2018 National schedule. The event features a field of 52 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour. They will tackle the course at 5,867 yards in the Bell National division and 5,028 yards in the Futures National division.
The Bell Series features a field of 23 golfers and four players ranked in the top 50 of the PKBGT Performance Index. Featured in the event is Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) ranked 17th, Grace Jones (Hayesville, NC 2020) ranked 29th, Emily Dunlap (Greenville, SC 2019) ranked 36th, and Isabella Rawl (Lexington, SC 2022) ranked 38th.
The Futures Series field features 29 golfers, highlighted by four of the top-25 players on the 2018 Futures PKBGT Order of Merit list, including: Amber Capote (Waxhaw, NC 2020) ranked 9th, Cori Langford (Blythewood, SC 2020) ranked 12th, Bethany Welch (Matthews, NC 2023) ranked 21st , and Sophia Lailiberte (Denver, NC 2021) ranked 22nd.
The Southeast Classic at Columbia Country Club brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 500 members in 2016 and over 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
