Preview: North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge Country Club

The PKBGT season is in full swing with our next tour stop at Sapona Ridge Country Club in Lexington, NC with the North Carolina Classic.  On March 24-25, the PKBGT will have a full field of 69 girls on the Sapona Ridge Country Club course. They will tackle the course at 5,750 yards in the Prep division and in the Futures National division at 5,200 yards.

The Prep Series features a strong field of 36 players from five different states. Featured in the Prep Series are Sasha Hayes (Winston-Salem, NC 2020), Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020), and Olivia John (Summerfield, NC 2018). Sasha is currently 21st on the Performance Index rankings and placed T8 at the PKBGT Tournament of Champions at Pinehurst #8 with a two day score of 155. Sophie is currently 30th on the Performance Index rankings and T5 in her last PKB event with a two day score of 147. Olivia is currently 35th on the Performance Index rankings and in her last PKB event, the 2018 Tar Heel Classic, she shot a two day score of 161.

The Futures National Series features a field of 33 players from seven states. Featured in the Futures National Series is Macy Pate (Boone, NC 2023), Elizabeth Lohbauer (Huntersville, NC 2021), and Kalina Siehl (Fort Mill, SC 2021). Macy is currently 1st on the Order of Merit standings for the Futures National Division. In her last PKB event, the 2018 Tar Heel Classic, she finished in 9th place with a two day score of 164. Elizabeth is currently 6th on the Order of Merit standings for the Futures National Division. In her last PKB event, the 2018 Tar Heel Classic, she finished 14th with a two day score of 170. Kalina is currently 4th on the Order of Merit standings for the Futures National Division. In her last PKB event, the 2018 Tar Heel Classic, she finished T16 with a two day score of 174.
