The PKBGT returns to action this coming weekend for the Peggy Kirk Bell Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club.  Mid Pines, a classic Donald Ross designed course in the heart of the Sandhills of North Carolina, was named “Best U.S Restoration of the Year” in 2013 by Golf Magazine. The event features a field 58 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’Mid Pines Inn & GCs largest “girls’ only” junior tour.

This event is the first event in the  LPGA Symetra Tour’s Women’s Health Classic Junior Challenge. This challenge is composed of 6 events where Bell and Prep players are awarded points based on their finish in those fields. The Top-29  players, and one sponsors exemption, will then compete in the Junior Challenge Qualifier on April 1-2, 2017 at The Links at Stoney Point. The Challenge champion will receive a sponsor exemption into the Self Regional Women’s Health Classic on May 1-7 2017 at the Links at Stoney Point.

Nicole Adam is coming off a win last month at the PKB Junior event over at Pine Needles, the sister course of Mid Pine. Shes looks to keep up her great playing with another top finish. Haeley Wotnosky has also visited the winner circle early in the 2017 PKBGT Season with a demanding win at Tournament of Champions with a score of 5 under for 27 holes.  Kathryn Carson is coming off a Top-5 finish at Tournament of Champions and looking to continue her good play.

In the Futures Series, players to watch are Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022) and Trinity Muthomi (Kernersville, NC 2022).  Maria Atwood is coming off a second place finish after a playoff at the PKB Junior at Pine Needles last month. She looks to continue her steady play and hopefully come out on top at this event. Trinity is also coming off a great finish at the PKB Junior. In her debut PKBGT event at Pine Needles last month she finished in third place.
