Preview: Eagle Classic at Georgia Southern University

This event has been rescheduled do to unfavorable weather conditions this weekend. We will play the Eagle Classic @ Georgia Southern University GC on February 18-19. 

On Saturday-Sunday, January 21-22, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Eagle Classic at Georgia Southern University Golf Course, home to the Georgia Southern University women’s & men’s golf teams. This event is the first of the new year and  features a field 30 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior. 

The Bell Division field features 22 golfers, highlighted by 10 of the top-50 players on the PKBGT, including: Natalie Petersen (Holly Springs, NC 2017), Kate Owens (Suwanee, GA 2018), and Mogie Adamchik (Raleigh, NC 2017). Natalie is 8th on the PKBGT Performance Index  coming off a T-25 finish at the PKBGT INVITATIONAL and she has also signed with Georgia Southern University women’s golf team. Kate is 23rd on the PKBGT Performance Index and coming into this event after a T-28 finish also at the PKBGT INVITATIONAL. Mogie is 37th on the PKBGT Bell Order of Merit and has signed to play on the  Appalachian State University women’s golf team in the fall. 

The Futures Division field features 8 golfers, here are a few players to watch at this PKBGT event : , Hallie Boles (Barourville, KY 2019), Telie McCoy (Early Branch, SC 2019), and  Chloe Holder (Williamston, SC 2021).

The Eagle Classic brings together players from 4 states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Kentucky. It should be a great event!

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2016 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
