— Live Scoring —

Pine Needles Lodge & GCWe are grateful for the beautiful weather today during round one of the PKB Junior at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club.  With temperatures in the 60s all day, we couldn’t have asked for better conditions for play!

Leading the Bell Series is Emily Dunlap (Greenville, SC 2019) and Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with a four-over par 75.  In a tie for third place by two strokes at 77 is Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017), Keri Kenkel (Charlotte, NC 2017), and Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017).  Its a tight race for the top spot in the Bell Series.  We are looking forward to an exciting finish in the Bell Series!

Leading the Futures Series is Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022) with a 79.  She made 10 solid pars and a birdie on her round.  In second place with a score of 81 is Tatum Walsh (Midlothian, VA 2021). In third place is Trinity Muthomi ( Kernersville, NC 2022) with a score of 82. In a two-way tie for fourth place are Alexia Siehl (Fort Mill, SC 2022) & Kasey Owenby (Gastonia, NC 2019) with a score of  83.  It is still anyone’s game in the Futures Series!

Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club, the host of the Peggy Kirk Bell Junior, was also host to the US Women’s Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007.  The strong history of women’s golf at Pine Needles combined with a championship-level course make it the ideal location for the further development of the game and the unofficial home of the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour. 49 players of the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the largest “girls-only” junior golf tour in the country, will tackle the classic Donald Ross course at 5,745 yards in the Bell Series and 5,004 yards in the Futures Series.

Play will conclude tomorrow with round two at a 10:00 AM shotgun start.  Awards will be presented to the top-five finishers in each series.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
