On Saturday-Sunday, April 1-2, the 2017 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge Country Club. Sapona Ridge, host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, is a demanding course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 59 players for this event.
Leading the Prep Series with an opening round of 74 is Rachel Mast (Lexington, NC 2017). In second place by 2 strokes with a 76 is Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC 2018). In third place with a 79 is Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, NC 2018).
Leading the Futures Series with an opening round of 80 is Maria Atwood (Holly Springs, NC 2022). Resting in second place by one stroke with an 81 is Trinity Muthoumi (Kernersville, NC 2022). In third place with an 84 is Angelique Seymour (Fayetteville, NC 2019).
The North Carolina Classic at Sapona Ridge Country Club brings together players from event brings together players from Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
