Recap: Yang, Carles claim Rocket Tour Players titles

— Live Scoring —

Wire to wire champions were the story of the 2016 Rocket Tour Players Championship in Athens, Georgia.  40 degrees temperatures again challenged the players as well as the challenging University of Georgia Golf Course, one of the Top 10 collegiate courses in the country by Links Magazine.

In the Bell Series, Elisa Yang (Norcross, GA 2017) shot a 6-over par 78 to claim the title.  Her rounds of 72-78-150 were good enough for a 3 shot lead over Louise Yu (Duluth, GA 2017).  2015 Rocket Tour Players Championship Futures Series champion Kate Owens (Suwanee, GA 2018) placed third 4 shots back.

In the Futures Series, PKBGT newcomer Phoebe Carles (Clinton, SC 2020) also went wire to wire to claim the title.  Carles fired rounds of 79-75-154 for a 1 shot victory over Kimberly Shin (Johns Creek, GA 2022).  Shin shot the low round of the day, even par 72 for a solo second.  Caroline Smith (Inverness, IL, 2020) claimed 3rd place with rounds of 79-81-160.
