Recap: Brubaker, Schaul victorious at Regency

On September 24, 2016 the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played Middle Atlantic One-Day Series event at Regency at Dominion Valley in Haymarket, VA. This executive course, designed by Arnold Palmer, tests you on every shot with hazards, bunkers, and small greens; par for the day was 62.

For the event, we only had two division; the Futures division had 17 participants and the Discovery division had 3 participants. Both divisions were won by girls making quite a long trip to play in the event. In the Discovery Series, Alexandra Schaul of Holmdel, NJ won with a score of 42, making the long trip down for the tournament well worth it. Katie Patterson of Washington, DC recorded her third straight runner-up finish in these Mid Atlantic one day events with a score of 51.

In the Futures Series, Emily Brubaker came up from Raleigh, NC to win with a score of 69. Mary Waclawski finished second with a score of 71. Alexandra Williams finished third, one shot behind Waclawski with a 72.

This Series will conclude in 2 weeks at the Hollows in Richmond, VA.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
