On Saturday-Sunday, June 11 & 12, the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Greater Richmond Classic at Magnolia Green Golf Club. Magnolia Green, was ranked #8 on Golf Digest’s Top 10 2015 Best New Courses, is a Nicklaus Design in association with Tom Clark and a beautiful course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 29 players from 7 states in the Prep and Futures Series.
The Prep Series field features 9 golfers, highlighted by a few of the top players on the 2016 PKBGT Prep Series Order of Merit list, including: Caroline Duggan (Holly Springs, NC 2019), Jessica Rathbone (Montpelier, VA 2020), Erica Whitehouse (Mechanicsville, VA 2017) and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019).
The Futures Series field features 20 golfers, highlighted by a number of top players on the 2016 PKBGT Futures Series Order of Merit list, including: Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023), Elizabeth Coffern (Owings, MD 2020), Sophie Simon (Potomac, MD 2021), and Vynie Chen (Centreville, VA 2020).
The Greater Richmond Classic brings together players from Delaware, Florida, Maryland, , New Jersey,Virginia , and West Virginia. It should be a great event!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
