On June 9, 2016, the PKBGT will play the next North Carolina One-Day Series tournament at Pine Island Country Club, home to the Carolinas Golf Association’s Vicki DiSantis Girls’ Championship in May. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a
premium golf course.
Featured in the 14-player Prep Series are Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) Taylor Hinson (Belmont, NC 2017) and Muskan Uppal (Cornelius, NC 2019). Sophie is currently ranked sixth on the PKBGT Prep Series Order of Merit and had five top-10 finishes this season. Taylor has a PKBGT Performance Index ranking of 47th and recently placed in the top ten at the Bell Open last weekend at the CC of Salisbury. Muskan is ranked 67th on the Performance Index and 24th on the Prep Series Order of Merit.
Featured in the 18-player Futures Series are Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) Audrey Nelson (Charlotte, NC 2019) and Layla Meric (Wesley, Chapel, NC 2021). Emily is ranked 66th on the PKBGT Performance Index and recently placed second at the Futures Open last week at Sapona Ridge CC. Audrey is ranked 17th on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit and had two top-5 finishes this season. Layla is ranked second on the Futures One-Day Order of Merit and had three top-10 finishes for her first year playing with PKBGT.
Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in each series. We look forward to a great event!
