On Saturday, June 4th, the PKBGT concluded the NC One-Day Series event at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. Longleaf, home to host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, and in owned by U.S. Kids, is a wonderful course for this one-day tournament. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.
Winning the Prep Series was Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) after firing a score of five over par, 76. Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC 2018) and Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) finished tied for second with a score of seven over par, 78. Finishing in fourth was Channing Hensley (Wake Forest, NC 2018) after shooting eight over par, 79. Rounding out the top five was Julianne Strauch (Advance, NC 2017) with a score of nine over par, 80.
Winning the Futures One-Day Series was Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020) carding the low round of the tournament with a score of three over par, 74. Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019) came down the stretch shooting even par on the back nine to finish in second with a score of five over par, 76. Haley McCrossan (Waxhaw, NC 2018) finished in third place after carding a round of eight over par, 79.. Finishing in fourth was Emily Brubaker (Raleigh, NC 2020) after shooting nine over par, 80. Rounding out the top five was Deborah Spair (Raleigh, NC 2020) with a score of eleven over par, 82.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
