On Saturday, June 4th, the PKBGT will play the NC One-Day Series event at Longleaf Golf & Family Club. Longleaf, home to host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, is a wonderful course for this one-day tournament. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course.
Featured in the Prep Series are Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) and Mackenzie Battle (Aberdeen, NC 2018). McCann is ranked 10th on the PKBGT Performance Index and placed in a tie for third place this weekend at the Bell Open. Sophie is ranked 32nd on the Performance Index and finished in the top-10 in four events this season. Mackenzie is ranked 82nd on the Performance Index and had two top-5 finishes this year.
Featured in the Futures Series are Lotte Fox (Raleigh, NC 2020), Mallory Fobes (East Bend, NC 2019), and Mara Hirtle (Pinehurst, NC 2020). Lotte is currently ranked in fifth on the PKBGT Futures Series Order of Merit and had six top-5 finishes this year. Mallory is ranked in eighth on the Order of Merit and had a fourth place finish this year at the Carolina’s Classic where she posted a personal best round of 75. Mara is ranked in 14th on the Order of Merit standings and had three top-10 finishes this year.
Awards will be presented to the top-5 finishers in each series. We look forward to a great event!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
