The PKBGT returned to action with the Futures Series Open Championship at Spona Ridge Country Club. The field brought together 37 players from four different states. Sapona Ridge, host to many Carolinas junior and amateur events, is a demanding course for this two-day tournament and great location for the event. The weather held out nicely for day two! Winning the Futures Open was Nicole Adam (Pinehurst, NC 2020) with rounds of 72-75-147. In second place by three strokes was Emily Song (Charlotte, NC 2019) with rounds of 77-73-150. Finishing in third place with rounds of 78-73-151 was Alexia Siehl (Fort Mill, SC 2022). In fourth place was Melissa Meng (Blacksburg, VA 2020) with rounds of 77-75-152. In fifth place matching cards was Caroline Duggan (Holly Springs, NC 2019) with rounds of 78-77-155. In sixth place matching cards was Paris Fieldings (Suffolk, VA 2023) with rounds of 76-79-155.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf. The PKBGT is the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 450 members in 2015 and 450 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
