On Sunday, February 15, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Rocket Tour PLAYERS at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The golf course is home to the University of Georgia Bulldogs women’s golf team. The course also hosts the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic which is the oldest women’s collegiate tournament in the southern United States and boasts one of the toughest fields that the women will see all year. In 2013, the course was the host of the Women’s NCAA Division I National Championship. In addition to being an distinguish course in collegiate golf, the course also hosted the PGA Tour Web.com Stadion Classic Golf Tournament from 2010 to 2013. With its rich tournament history, the University of Georgia GC is an esteemed course for the first championship event of the 2015 season. The event featured a field 34 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
Lauren Lightfritz (Suwanee, GA 2016) is golden!
In the Bell Series, Lightfritz shot two over par with a score of 74 to place first with a two-day total of 151. Ashley Czarnecki (Greenville, SC 2016) shot one over par with a score of 73 to place second with a two-day total of 152. Mariah Smith (Clarkville, TN 2017) shot five over par with a score of 77 to place third with a two-day total of 153.
In the Futures Series, Kate Owens (Suwanee, GA 2018) shot one over par with a score of 73 to place first with a two-day total of 155. Mallory Lovell (Georgetown, KY 2018) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place second with a two-day total of 158. Anna Freeman (Aiken, SC 2017) and Peyton Gillespie (Greenville, SC 2019) tied for third each with two-day totals of 167.

PKBGT returns to action in two weeks on Saturday-Sunday, February-March 28-1 with the Tiger Classic @ The Walker Course at Clemson University. The event brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
