On Saturday-Sunday, January-February 31-1, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the PKB Foundation Classic at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. Mid Pines, a classic Donald Ross designed course in the heart of the Sandhills of North Carolina, was named “Best U.S Restoration of the Year” in 2013 by Golf Magazine. The event features a field 55 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 340 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
The Bell Division field features 23 golfers, highlighted by 10 of the top-50 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) ranked 14th, Killian Casson (Greenville, NC 2015) ranked 17th, Adeena Shears (Elizabeth, WV 2016) ranked 20th, Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) ranked 23rd, Rhea Bhatia (Wake Forest, NC 2015) ranked 26th, Annie Collom (Davidson, NC 2015) ranked 29th, Gracyn Burgess (Lexington, SC 2018) ranked 34th, Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) ranked 43rd, Katharina Floyd (Chapel Hill, NC 2020) ranked 46th, and Elizabeth Nguyen (Pinehurst, NC 2017) ranked 48th.
The Futures Division field features 32 golfers, highlighted by some of the top performers on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020), Ashley Kim (Chapel Hill, NC 2017), Rachel Kuehn (Asheville, NC 2019), Parker Melting (Mint Hill, NC 2018), Hailey Pendleton (Waxhaw, NC 2020), Carley Rudolf (Virginia Beach, VA 2019), Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019), and Muskan Uppal (Cornelius, NC 2019).
The PKB Foundation Classic brings together players from 7 states including Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Ontario, Canada. It should be a great event!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
