On Saturday-Sunday, July 18-29, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Chanticleer Classic at the Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University. The Hackler Course, home of the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers women’s golf teams, is the only university golf course on the Grand Strand and a great course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field 37 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
The Prep Series field features 14 golfers, highlighted by some standout players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Baylee Evans (Lancaster, SC 2018), Sarah Funderburg (Wilmington, NC 2018), Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC 2016), and Riley Smyth (Cary, NC 2018).
The Futures Series field features 23 golfers, highlighted by some standout players on the 2015 PKBGT Futures Series Order of Merit list, including: Amanda Conner (Irwin, PA 2017), Riley Hamilton (Reidsville, NC 2020), Madison Lewis (New Market, MD 2016), Lauren Nee (Cary, NC 2018), Jayla Rogers (Wilmington, NC 2019), and Emilee Wenmoth (Clemmons, NC 2017).
The Chanticleer Classic brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. It should be a great event!
