Recap: Play concludes at Girls Golf Team Championship

On Wednesday, July 8, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Team Championship at Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (Green Course) in Williamsburg, VA. The course has served as host to multiple college events and was a great course for this two-day tournament. The event featured a field 28 players from 15 different LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Programs across the country.

The second round of the event will be a Four Ball Stroke Play where each player plays her own ball and the lower score of the two players is the team score each hole. In the Championship Division, Ashni Dhruva (Katy, TX 2016) and Isha Dhruva (Katy, TX 2019) shot five under par with a score of 67 to place first with a two-day total of 131. In the Futures Division, Jessica Thornton (Virginia Beach, VA 2017) and Kendall Turner (Chesapeake, VA 2019) shot six under par with a score of 66 to place first with a two-day total of 136. In the Discovery Division, Jordyn Cline (Mahwah, NJ 2022) and Corinne Orsulak (New Ringgold,PA 2022) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place first with a two-day total of 117.

PKBGT returns to action on Saturday with the One-Day Open Series at Fores Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC. The events bring together players from Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
