On Saturday-Monday, May 23-25, the 2015 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the PKBGT BELL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS at Country Club of Salisbury. Salisbury, home of the Catawba College women’s golf team, is a tricky course for this three-day tournament. The event features a field 53 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 425 members in 2014 and over 350 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf. The event, ranked by the GolfWeek/Titliest national rankings, is the third championship tournament of the 2015 season.
The Bell Series field features 53 golfers, highlighted by 12 of the top-25 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Aneka Seumanutafa (Frederick, MD 2019) ranked 9th, Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 2015) ranked 11th, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) ranked 13th, Jodee Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2017) ranked 14th, Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC 2016) ranked 15th, Catherine Ashworth (Fuquay-Varina, NC 2015) ranked 17th, Sydney Mills (Severna Park, MD 2016) ranked 18th, Alyssa Montgomery (Knoxville, TN 2019) ranked 19th, Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) ranked 20th, Callista Rice (Mars Hill, NC 2017) ranked 21st, Grace Yatawara (Salisbury, NC 2016) ranked 22nd, and Rhea Bhatia (Wake Forest, NC 2015) ranked 25th.
The PKBGT BELL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS at Country Club of Salisbury brings together players from event brings together players from Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. It should be a great tournament! Who will be golden?
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
