On Saturday, September 27, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Fall Preview at Draper Valley Golf Club. Draper Valley, home to the Radford University men’s and women’s golf teams, is an beautiful course for this two-day fall qualifier tournament. The event features a field of 21 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf. The participants will be vying for five coveted invitations to the PKBGT INVITATIONAL at Grandover Resort (East Course) in November.
Kendall Dobbins (Summerfield, NC 2016) shot four over par with 76 to place first with a two-day total of 150. Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) shot seven over par with a score 79 to place second with a two-day total of 156 and Roshnee Sharma (Waxhaw, NC 2016) shot six over par with a score of 78 to place third with a two-day total of 159.
With their top-5 finishes today, Dobbins, Carson, Sharma, Josephine Jung (Ellicott City, MD 2016), Grace Massengil (Hickory, NC 2016), and Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) receive invitations into the PKBGT INVITATIONAL in November. PKBGT returns to on action on Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5 with the PKBGT-TYGA Jimmy Anderson Junior @ Jacksonville CC in Jacksonville, NC.
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
