On Saturday-Monday, May 24-26, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the PKBGT BELL OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP at Country Club of Salisbury and the PKBGT FUTURES OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP at Sapona Ridge Country Club. Both courses are tricky, but regardless, are great venues for the third championship event of the season. The Bell event features a field of 59 players and the Futures event features of field of 31 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
The Bell Division field features 59 golfers, highlighted by 20 of the top-50 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Sarah Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) ranked 2nd, Anna Redding (Concord, NC 2015) ranked 3rd, Jessica Spicer (Bahama, NC 2016) ranked 5th, Madison Moosa (Charlotte, NC 2017) ranked 6th, Payton Schanen (Milton, GA 2015) ranked 7th, Anne Taylor Hough (Spartanburg, SC 2015) ranked 10th, Elizabeth Bose (Norfolk, VA 2015) ranked 13th, Siranon Shoomee (Sanford, NC 2016) ranked 18th, Jaelyn Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2015) ranked 19th, Joey Mae Walz (Pittsburgh, PA 2015) ranked 21st, Savanah Goodman (Easley, SC 2016) ranked 24th, Savannah Gowarty (Raleigh, NC 2015) ranked 28th, Alexis Kershaw (Winston-Salem, NC 2014) ranked 29th, Catherine Ashworth (Fuquay-Varina, NC 2015) ranked 35th, Grace Yatawara (Salisbury, NC 2016) ranked 36th, Delaney Shah (North Potomac, MD 2016) ranked 39th, Kate Collom (Davidson, NC 2014) ranked 40th, Abbey Hartsell (Hickory, NC 2015) ranked 42nd, Haeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) ranked 44th, and Annie Collom (Davidson, NC 2015) ranked 46th.
The Futures Division field features 32 golfers, highlighted by last year’s event champion, Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019), who will be defending her title, and 12 of the top-30 players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Katharina Floyd (Chapel Hill, NC 2020) in 1st position, Wade in 4th position, Rachel Kuehn (Asheville, NC 2019) in 7th position, Ellis Hunter (Greensboro, NC 2016) in 8th position, Keri Kenkel (Charlotte, NC 2017) in 14th position, Casey Burroughs (Wake Forest, NC 2016) in 17th position, Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) in 18th position, Mogie Adamchik (Raleigh, NC 2017) in 19th position, Rebecca DiNunzio (Norfolk, VA 2019) in 20th position, Miranda Lassiter (Chesapeake, VA 2016) in 21st position, Alexis Jarrell (Davidson, NC 2018) in 23rd position, and Katie Pritchett (Dry Fork, VA 2016) in 29th position.
The PKBGT OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS brings together players from event brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Both should be great tournaments!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers.
