On Saturday-Saturday, May 17-18, the 2014 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Metrolina Classic at Rock Hill Country Club. The course is home to the Winthrop University golf teams is a fantastic course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 43 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 375 members in 2013 and 262 girls playing in or committed to collegiate golf.
The Bell Division field features 23 golfers, highlighted by five of the top-50 players on the PKBGT Performance Index, including: Jaelyn Tindal (Rock Hill, SC 2015) ranked 19th, Grace Massengill (Hickory, NC 2016) ranked 26th, Kate Collom (Davidson, NC 2014) ranked 35th, Grace Yatawara (Salisbury, NC 2016) ranked 37th, Ashley Czarnecki (Greenville, SC 2016) ranked 43, and Annie Collom (Davidson, NC 2015) ranked 49th.
The Futures Division field features 20 golfers, highlighted by five of the top-25 players on the 2014 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Sophie Holland (Cornelius, NC 2020) in 2nd position, Woo Wade (Dunwoody, GA 2019) in 6th position, Ciaran Carlile (Evans, GA 2015) in 13th position, Hannah Rose Bruxvoort (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) in 17th position, and Alexis Jarrell (Davidson, NC 2018) in 23rd position.
The Metrolina Classic brings together players from event brings together players from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. It should be a great tournament!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers affordable, high-quality nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
