On Sunday, March 24, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour concluded the Richmond Classic at Providence Golf Club. The conditions tested the girls with cold temperatures and freezing rain at the tail end of the event.
In the Bell Division, Allison Cooper (Harrisburg, PA 2015) claimed her first PKBGT title, surging back with an even par 71 in the final round. Cooper’s 76-71-147 was good enough for a one shot lead over Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, VA 2014), the first round leader. Kendra Dalton (Wake Forest, NC, 2014) claimed third, 3 shots back.
In the Futures Division, Lena Capoccia (Bethesda, MD 2018) was the class of the field, claiming a 10-shot victory firing 74-76-150. Hailey Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) took second with a 82-78-160. There was a three-way tie for third.
PKBGT returns to action in two weeks on Saturday-Sunday, April 6-7 with the PKBGT MASTERS @ Salem Glen Golf & Country Club in Clemmons, NC. This is the second major event of the 2013 season, brings together players from Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia, and even Ontario, Canada.
