On Saturday-Sunday, February 2-3, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the Chanticleer Classic @ The Hackler Course at Coastal Carolina University. The Hackler Course, home of the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers men’s and women’s golf teams, is a challenging course for this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 46 players from the PKB Girls’ Golf Tour, the nation’s largest “girls’ only” junior tour with over 400 members in 2012, 137 alumni in the collegiate ranks and 29 National Letter of Intent signees for fall 2013.
The Bell Division field features 26 golfers, highlighted by four the top 800 players nationally, including: Shannon Brooks (Vienna, VA 2015) in 308th position, Alaina Yeatts (Durham, NC 2014) in 400th position, Delaney Shah (North Potomac, MD 2016) in 638th position, and Allison Wong (Rockville, MD 2014) in 789th position. Emily Blaner (East Liverpool, OH 2014), Meghan Holbrooks (Winston-Salem, NC 2014), and Joey Mae Walz (Pittsburgh, PA 2015) will be playing their first PKB event.
The Futures Division field features 20 golfers, highlighted by three of the top 15 players on the 2012 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: CHaeley Wotnosky (Wake Forest, NC 2018) in 4th position, Moon Cheong (Charlotte, NC 2017) in 7th position, and Holly McCann (Raleigh, NC 2019) in 12th position. Riley Dean (Lewis Center, OH 2019), Lauren Ashley Mayse (Cecilton, MD 2014), and Alyssa Montgomery (Knoxville, TN 2019) will be playing their first PKB event.
The Chanticleer Classic @ The Hackler Course brings together the top players from the Carolinas, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. It should be an exciting & challenging event!
The Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour is an initiative of the Triad Youth Golf Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation aimed at increasing learning and playing opportunities for youth golfers. Based out of Greensboro, North Carolina, the PKBGT offers low cost, nationally ranked girls’ golf tournaments designed to prepare junior girls’ golfers for high school and collegiate golf.
