On Thursday, June 13, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour plays the One-Day Open Series at Forest Oaks Country Club. Forest Oaks, former home of the PGA Tour Greater Greensboro Open and site of the PKBGT PRECISION GOLF SCHOOL JR GIRLS CHAMPIONSHIPS in July, is a distinguished course for the second one-day tournament of the 2013 season. One-day tournaments are designed for golfers of all skill levels, but are a great place for development golfers to “get in to the swing of things” playing tournament golf. The goal of One-Day Open Series events is to provide a fun and friendly tournament on a premium golf course. The event features a field of 58 players.
In the Bell Division, the field features 11 golfers, highlighted by some of the top players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit list, including: Megan Munroe (Raeford, NC 2016), Meghan Symonds (Cary, NC 2015), and Grace Yatawara (Salisbury, NC 2016).
In the Futures Division, the field features 29 golfers, highlighted by seven of the top 30 players on the 2013 PKBGT Order of Merit lists, including: Kathryn Carson (Mooresville, NC 2017) ranked 6th, Susannah Ireland (Wake Forest, NC 2017) ranked 17th, Hailey Freedman (Chapel Hill, NC 2018) ranked 18th, Kendall Dobbins (Summerfield, NC 2016) ranked 22nd, Samantha Vodry (Mooresville, NC 2016) ranked 26th, Katie Pritchett (Dry Fork, VA 2016) ranked 27th, and Samantha Bennett (Wake Forest, NC 2016) ranked 30th.
The PKBGT would like welcome Julia Carroll (High Point, NC 2015), Jaime Cassell (Charlotte, NC 2016), Madison Harriman (High Point, NC 2017), Olivia John (Summerfield, NC 2018), Micah Mason (Richfield, NC 2016), Reina Pozo (Mint Hill, NC 2015), Savanna Wood (Boone, NC 2014), and Elise Wright (Summerfield, NC 2014) who will be playing their first PKB event this season.
The One-Day Open Series @ Forest Oaks Country Club brings together players from North Carolina and Virginia. Weather for Monday looks sunny with temperatures in the 80s with a chance of thunderstorms. Despite the chance of inclement weather, it should be a great day for the second One-Day Open Series of the season!
