On Saturday, May 4, the 2013 Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ Golf Tour played the first round of the Wildcat Classic at University Club of Kentucky (Wildcat Course). The Wildcat Course, home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats men’s and women’s golf teams, is one the two courses the college plays and proved a tricky course for round one of this two-day tournament. The event features a field of 10 players. Despite the tournament being a small, the field is strong with seven players ranked inside the top 50 for their state by Junior Golf Scoreboard.
In the Bell Division, after round one, Adeena Shears (Elizabeth, WV 2016) and Kylie Raines (Dublin, OH 2014) are tied for first at seven over par with a score of 78. Not far behind the leaders is Molly Skapik (Miamisburg, OH 2014) in third place at eight over par with a score of 79 and Ali Nageotte (Westlake, OH 2014) in fourth place at 10 over par with a score of 81.
Weather for Sunday looks is rainy with temperatures in the 60s. Despite the poor forecast, it should still be an exciting conclusion to this two-day tournament. Follow the action live at the scoreboard button below.
